Software built to last, not to scale prematurely.
Brow Nouveau is a small, privately-held software studio. We design and operate a focused portfolio of consumer and productivity applications with an emphasis on privacy, durability, and the unfashionable virtue of code you can still read in five years.
What we work on
Our work tends toward the personal and the practical — software that fits cleanly into the rhythm of someone's day rather than competing for it. We favor projects where the people using the product are also the people paying for it, where the relationship is direct, and where the surface area is small enough to understand end-to-end.
We hold our own infrastructure where it matters, ship our own cryptography rather than outsourcing trust, and treat each shipped release like something a person will rely on for years — because, in the work we choose, they usually do.
How we work
-
Privacy as the default, not the upsell.
Our consumer products ship with no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no behavioral telemetry. We collect what's required to deliver the product and nothing else. Where the data is intimate, we encrypt it on the device before it leaves.
-
Boring stacks, deliberately.
We choose tools that will still compile in 2031. That usually means vanilla web fundamentals, mature server runtimes, and relational databases — not the framework of the quarter. The discipline pays out as fewer dependencies, fewer migrations, and software that survives its authors leaving the building.
-
Small surface, sharp focus.
We'd rather ship a product that does one thing precisely than a platform that does six things adequately. Most features we consider don't ship. The ones that do tend to stay.
Working with us
We are a small, owner-operated studio and we are selective about outside engagements. If you have a focused problem that fits our practice — particularly one where privacy and durability matter more than feature velocity — we would be glad to hear from you.
